CrosStar MT-200 W1300 Master Station
The MT-200 Master Station is a Master SCADA Modem and I/O Controller for Aquatrol W1300 style RTU’s, and an I/O rack controller forthe Aquatrol T2034 I/O card boxes. It uses the Allen-Bradley DF1® Computer interface to allow you to add several MMI software choices to your SCADA and local I/O system. The Computer interface uses a standard RS-232 connection, and runs at 4800 BAUD. The DF1 Protocol uses PLC-5 “Typed Logical” Read/Write Commands with either Binary or ASCII addressing, PLC-5 “Word Range” and “extended word range” Read/Write Commands with either Binary or ASCII addressing; or PLC-5 “Read-Modify-Write” Commands. The modem uses the BCC error checking option on the Data Highway connection. CrosStar uses the DF1® protocol because most popular software control programs provide these drivers as part of their basic offering. Using this driver assures that the CrosStar MT-200 modem operates equally well with any version of windows, or any other operating system. Some of the many programs supported are: Lookout®, Genesis®, The Fix®, Trihedral VTS, Allen-Bradley RS View and Cimplicity.
The CrosStar MT-200 SCADA Modem provides complete master control of any RT-100 or W1300 system, based upon information and control passed from the MMI display/control programs noted above. The SCADA modem interprets the standard Allen Bradley DF1® messaging, and provides the necessary conversions of both speed and data format, to make a seamless exchange to the controlling computer and MMI. No additional software patches or drivers are required, since DF1® is a widely acceptedprotocol standard. The CrosStar MT-200 addresses up to 98 RTU’s, as in the original W1300 system design.
The MT-200 appears as one PLC-5 on the RS-232 connection, and the entire W1300 telemetry system appears as I/O points on that PLC. It occupies DataHighway address 1, and other PLCs may be installed on the same network at other addresses, as in any ordinary installation. The MT-200 needs no configuration, because it installs itself when connected to an operating MMI software computer. The modem contains all necessary conversions for address, status and analog signals used by the SCADA system. It properly converts data in both directions without any operator configuration. Digital and Analog values are automatically routed properly to the MMI.
